Penn State football best available players on Day 3 of 2026 NFL draft

Penn State still has a significant contingent of prospects available as the 2026 NFL Draft enters its final day, and several of them could come off the board early in Rounds 4 through 7.

The Nittany Lions have already seen offensive lineman Vega Ioane go 14th overall to Baltimore and quarterback Drew Allar land with Pittsburgh in the third round — a somewhat surprising destination given Allar's projections. But six more Penn State players remain available, headlined by defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton.

The right gear makes a difference — on the field and in the stands.

Dennis-Sutton, at 6-foot-6 and 256 pounds, possesses the physical tools of an immediate NFL contributor. His strength against the run is established, but scouts note his pass-rushing technique never fully developed in college. NFL.com's Lance Zierlein writes that he's "equipped to muddy running lanes but might not make many impact plays" — a solid floor with room to grow.

Running backs Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton present an intriguing storyline. The former backfield partners could hear their names called close together on Day 3, though for different reasons. Allen is considered one of the safest skill-position picks in the draft — consistent, reliable, and rarely losing yardage. Singleton offers explosive athleticism but comes with questions after a disappointing senior season and a recent foot injury.

Safety Zakee Wheatley brings elite instincts with six career interceptions and versatility in coverage and run support. The question is whether his frame can handle NFL physicality immediately or if he projects as a special-teamer early.

Defensive tackle Zane Durant's exceptional quickness for his position makes him an intriguing scheme-specific pickup, while offensive tackle Drew Shelton's reliable pass-blocking technique could earn him early reps despite lacking ideal size.

What This Means For You: If you're tracking Penn State prospects or looking for Day 3 draft sleepers, keep Dennis-Sutton and Allen on your radar. Both have clear NFL roles — Dennis-Sutton as a run-stopping defensive end with upside, Allen as a reliable third-down back. Day 3 is where franchises find value, and both players have the profiles of long-term contributors who outplay their draft positions.
